RHA News

It’s been a very busy few months for the Round Hill Association. The Quiz Night in March was really well attended and raised a wonderful £427.54! Earlier this term over 150 children took part in our first ever fun run and this too was a huge success, with calls for it to become an annual event (see the write-up below). Although we don’t have final figures as yet we are confident that it will be a significant contribution towards the cost of the all-weather track.

As a committee we are always looking at new ways to raise money. Some of the suggestions to add to the calendar in the future include a race night, a Christmas Market and an International Celebration (to include and promote the diversity of our community). We would very much like new ideas to come in, particularly from anyone willing to help organise and run the events!

Dates for your diary:

RHA meetings – 4th June and 2nd July 8.00pm (The Star) & 7th June and 4th July 2.30pm (Costa)

The Summer Fair – Saturday 16th June 12.00 – 3.00pm (see below for further details)

End of Term Bash – Friday 13th July

The Summer Fair

With the fair fast approaching we now need help to make it a success. In addition to games stalls, a BBQ and the other many stalls run by Y6 pupils and volunteers, we have businesses from the local community. These include reflexology, Usborne Books, craft stalls and more!

Volunteers

Please do sign up to volunteer as many hands really do make light work. We’ll need a team to help set up the hall and dining room in the morning and then people to run the BBQ, refreshments, tombolas, raffle and face painting throughout the duration of the fair, then another team to clear up at the end. Either contact a committee member, comment on the post on the RHA facebook page or use https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090c4ca9ae23a7ff2-summer2/41163094

If you have skills in a particular area, please do let us know!

Contributions

After half term there will be boxes in the main reception for donations toward the children and adult tombolas. Please donate any new/unused toys, gifts, books. If you are donating alcohol could you please hand it in at the office. We will also be running a cake stall at the fair so will be in school on Friday 15th to collect baked goods.

Each class will also be creating a themed box for our raffle.

If you know of any local businesses who may wish to have a stall at the fair or contribute to the raffle please contact Clare Saffin via the facebook page or the school office.
