19.06.2019 Letter to Parents re MAT Gov Meeting

19 June 2019

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to update you on the invitation for Round Hill Primary School to join the White Hills Park Trust.

Round Hill governors met yesterday evening to discuss in detail the proposals, points raised through engagement with parents and staff and the responses we have received from the trust.

As a result, governors have decided to go back to the trust and seek further information on a number of matters, including the proposed scheme of delegation, our school’s ongoing financial commitment and the level of support for continuing professional development of Round Hill's staff, to name a few.

Governors will meet again in the coming weeks to consider the trust’s response to our questions and at that meeting we will set a date for a vote to determine whether the school continues to the next stage. If governors decided to proceed, the school would then enter a period of formal consultation on the issue with parents, staff and stakeholders and due diligence would be carried out on the proposal.

We had intended to set a date for the vote on Tuesday; however, we feel it is right to ensure all governors have the information they need to make an informed decision ahead of voting.

In the meantime, we are finalising the question log, which has been created from comments made by governors, parents and staff during the engagement events, correspondence and the questionnaire. We have sought answers to as many questions as possible and we will publish the results on the school website shortly.

Thank you for your input on this issue, it has been invaluable.

Yours sincerely

Adrian Nash
