School DirectWe are offering up to 4 School Direct places for academic year 2014/15 in partnership with the Nottingham University. Click here to find out more.

Applications for this course can be made through the UCAS Teacher Training website which will open from 21 November 2013.

This course starts in August 2014 and is available for full-time study over one year.

The University of Nottingham is a training provider for School Direct (tuition fee) with places in a number of partnership secondary and primary schools. The School Direct PGCE builds on our established school-based routes, the secondary GTP and the primary National SCITT.

You are supported throughout the year by mentors in school and University tutors. The school and University elements are closely related and provide an excellent opportunity to learn to teach in a tightly structured, research informed environment.

This School Direct course awards the prestigious University of Nottingham PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status and up to 60 Masters credits (towards an MA Education).

Applications for each school close when the places are allocated. Early applications are advised as the award of places will be highly competitive.

All our Initial Teacher Training courses are highly rated locally and many of our students go on to work in partner schools each year. Ofsted judged the PGCE course to be outstanding, commenting that:

‘Expert teams of tutors, with a blend of professional and academic expertise, work together extremely well to support trainees and provide excellent training in subject and professional studies.’ Ofsted 2010
