Spring Term - Thank you to the parents who gave their time to attend the meeting, 15th March 2020.  Parents were invited to feedback verbally about various topics:

We started by discussing permissions needed from parents for school trips in the local area.    Parents welcomed the ideas of reducing and keeping administration to the minimum by using electronic methods and asking for negative preferences.  In other words, for trips within the local vicinity, school would let parents know that children are going on a trip asking for parents to opt out if they want to.

We discussed the attendance letters that were sent to some parents last half term. Mr Nash acknowledged that the letters lacked sensitivity to those parents where children had to have time off with COVID. Parents welcomed the fact that school was rethinking its strategy about the letters school sends. School has many other strategies for engaging positively with parents and these are continuing to be used effectively.

We discussed that parents evening was likely to return to being face to face in the summer.  This method was preferred as parents welcomed the idea of children sharing the work.  We also hope to have a concert and performances returning in the summer too.

Parents liked the idea and wanted to continue with children attending school in their PE kits as we move to September.  Mr Nash mentioned that he felt the PE kit needed to be more unified rather than expensive football kits.

Mr Nash mentioned that the school website was in the process of being updated with the curriculum and the RSE work we talked about last time at Parents’ Forum was almost ready for publication too.

We mentioned about the introduction of sporting activities.  We all felt that children need these things too so they had their opportunity, before leaving school.

There will be another Parents’ Forum in the Summer Term.
