Dear Parent/Carer,

New Heating System

We are pleased to announce that the Local Authority has identified Round Hill to have a brand new heating system installed.  The current heating is reaching the end of its life and we may struggle to get through winter without this intervention.  It is worth noting that this project is costing in excess of £500,000 fully funded by the Local Authority. Whilst it's not ideal to be carrying out this work during the winter months, there would always be some disruption whenever the work takes place due the 22 week timeframe. If everything goes according to plan the work may be finished much earlier than this. I have been working with the heating contractors over the summer holidays to ensure that the project is well planned to ensure minimal disruption.

Work will start on Monday 25 September and as per the text message today, site cabins will be delivered tomorrow morning (Friday, 21 September 2017). Please be extra vigilant first thing in the morning as there are likely to be some vehicles on and around the school site.

A polite reminder that the school car park is for staff only as there is not enough room to accommodate any other vehicles.  This also includes dropping off at Roundabout as staff are arriving at this time.

Your children will notice that they may have to move classrooms for a couple of days as their classroom is being worked on, but the disruption to learning will be kept to a minimum and the children will be well prepared for the changes. Those of you who have been at the school for a while will know that there have been several construction projects over the last few years and we are used to managing work happening around school.

Please come and talk to us if you have any concerns.

Yours sincerely,

Adrian Nash
