27.06.19 Year 6 Snow Dome Letter

Dear Parents / Carers,

As part of our Pound Project, the Year 6 children will be going on a trip to Tamworth Snow Dome on Tuesday 16th July 2019.

The cost of this trip has been entirely funded by the Year 6 Pound Project and the RHA.  The children will be involved in different activities throughout the day including tobogganing, ice skating and swimming pool play with flume. We have therefore included a kit list with this letter.

We will be leaving Round Hill promptly at 8:30am. Therefore, all children need to be in the school hall by 8.15am at the latest please. They should use the doors at the front of school by the office. Please ensure your child uses the toilet before school as there will only be limited time to do so before we need to get onto the bus. We are aiming to be back at Round Hill ready for the children to be collected at 5.15pm.

Children need to bring a packed lunch, snack and drink with them as well as their kit (please see attached letter). If your child is entitled to a free school meal, the kitchen will provide a packed lunch in lieu of a hot meal on the day of our trip.

Kind regards,

The Year 6 Team

Fun Activities (tobogganing and ice skating)

Wrap up warm, as you would for a cold winters day! Warm clothes, gloves and a hat are ideal. Also, sturdy footwear with a good grip suitable for walking on snow is recommended. Timberland type boots or Wellington boots are perfect. If not, trainers are fine but they are likely to get wet, so please bring a change of footwear.

Warm, multi-layered leisure-wear is recommended (i.e. t-shirt or under layer, fleece and a jacket) as it’s always better to have a few layers than rely on a single thick jumper. Also, if you have anything waterproof, particularly trousers, then this is ideal.

Please note that jeans are not recommended as they will retain moisture, become cold and restrict movement.

If you are ice skating, skate hire is included in the price of admission and your shoes will be looked after while you are out on the ice.

Lockers are also available for your personal belongings.

Swimming

A swimming costume/swimming shorts and a towel.

A complete change of clothes is recommended for the end of the day when all activities have been completed.

If you have any questions, please come and speak to your child’s class teacher.
