 CHRISTAMS FAIR – THANK YOU

Thank you to everyone who got involved in this fund raising event in particular the RHA Team.  The rha also wanted me to thank everyone who volunteered and also those who donated prizes and gifts for stalls and tombola’s including Lidl.  We raised just over £1,200 which when added to the £800 raised through the sale of Christmas cards brings the total raised for the autumn term to just over £2,000. Wow!

CROSS COUNTRY NEWS

Some more good news on the cross country front has come to light this week. Following the Broxtowe championships earlier in the year, seven children from years 5 and 6  - Rosie, Hannah, Daisy, Tomas. Frankie, Tommy and Ted - have been selected to represent Broxtowe in the County Schools' Cross Country Championships in the New Year. The children have done fantastically well to earn this opportunity and I look forward to reporting on how they get on in February.

CHRISTMAS DINNER – THANK YOU

Thanks to Mrs Lynn Lowe and her team in the kitchen for the lovely Christmas lunch she prepared for the children on Wednesday. Serving about 400 hot meals, Lynn and her colleagues in the kitchen did a marvellous job in feeding everyone.

CHRISTMAS JUMPER AND/OR ACCESSORY DAY

We have had so many recent fund raising events this year we didn’t feel it was appropriate to have yet another one where we asked for money.  It would be a shame not to get involved and have some fun though, so if your child would like to wear a Christmas Jumper or accessorise with some Christmas tinsel/antlers etc… then please feel free to do so on the last day of term, Tuesday 20th December.

EYFS AND KS1 CONCERTS

Thank you to all the children and staff involved in our productions this week.  What a fantastic job they did – We hope you enjoyed the shows…

HEAD LICE

It has come to our attention that head lice are doing the rounds again. Could we ask, therefore, that you check your child’s hair and if necessary, treat accordingly.  The local pharmacy will be happy to help with any queries or concerns.

ILLNESS - NOROVIRUS

Could we please remind you that any children with symptoms of vomiting and/or diarrhoea, however slight, should be kept at home. They can return to school 48 hours after their symptoms disappear. This allows 24 hours for the virus to be completely gone and 24 hours recovery time.

Most cases of vomiting or diarrhoea are caused by viruses which are easily passed on to other children by contact. Please help your child to understand why they need to wash and dry their hands frequently.  If symptoms persist, consult your GP. Click here to find out more about Norovirus.

ORCHESTRA/CHOIR CONCERT

The School Orchestra and various choirs will perform their final concert of the year on Wed 14th December between 4.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. It would be lovely to see you there.

SPRING TERM 2016

We break up for two weeks on Tuesday 20th December and come back to school for the Spring Term on Wednesday 4th January 2016.
