Volunteers

We are always pleased to have volunteers in school and hope that volunteers find their time in school enjoyable, fun and rewarding. We know that the children benefit from volunteers in lots of different ways and many activities, such as swimming, could not take place without your help and support.

Volunteering can take place in lots of different ways. You may be available on a weekly basis and be able to come in to school regularly. Coming in to school is not just about sitting listening to children read you may prefer to come in and help in science sessions or art session or computing sessions or PE. Let us know where your interest lies and we will try and accommodate you. It may be that you have a particular skill or interest and only come in to school once or twice to share some information with children when relevant e.g to contribute to an RE session or an assembly to share your religious beliefs. You may want to work directly with the children or come in and help put up displays. We are always pleased to have people in school to help with different aspects of school life.

Every year we hold an induction for volunteers who are going to be coming in to school regularly and we have a volunteer code of practice for all volunteers to adhere to because safe and good practice is extremely important to us.

Please see our code of practice below.
