This week’s writing task is about Captain Tom Moore. Take a look at the Writing instructions and information sheets below.
|Spelling and Grammar (SpAG):||
Spelling: Practise 10 of the statutory spelling words for your year group (See the 'Year 5 and 6 Statutory spellings' document below).
Grammar: Look at the information below about different sentence types, and then watch this video. Create a song about any (or some, or all!) of the SPaG areas we have looked at whilst we’ve been learning at home (synonyms and antonyms; nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs; relative clauses; modal verbs; inverted commas; and sentence types).
This week’s reading comprehension activity, which is about V.E. Day , can be found in the 'Reading Comprehension VE Day' document.
Please complete the 1-star, 2-star or 3-star activity - whichever you feel is most appropriate. Our suggestion would be that Year 5 pupils try the 2-star task and Year 6 pupils complete the 3-star task.
Daily reading! Remember to read something which interests you for at least 5 minutes every day.
