Week Beginning 18.05.20
Hello Year 5's!
Here are your learning activities for this week. You can find plenty more 'optional' activities to complete by looking at the 'Weekly Work Summary' document below.
Watch this useful video to learn an easy way to save your work on your computer and reduce the amount of paper that you print.
Keep on uploading your terrific work onto your Class Dojo Portfolios. Remember, you can now earn Petal Dojos to help you receive your Bronze, Silver or Gold sticker at the end of the week!
We can't wait to see you during our Zoom meetings this week!
The Year 5/6 Teachers
Lesson 1: Percentages as Fractions and Decimals
Lesson 2: Equivalent Fractions, Decimals and Percentages
Repeat the steps for Lesson 1.
Times Table Rockstars: Play the 10 Garage and 10 Festival games which have been set for you.
Take a look at the story starter 'Writing Activity' document below and complete the activities linked to this on pages 2-5. You could do one activity each day.
|Spelling and Grammar (SPaG):||
Spelling: Practise 10 of the statutory spelling words for your year group (See the 'Year 5 and 6 Statutory spellings' document below).
Grammar: Look through the slides on apostrophes on the 'SPaG Apostrophe Slides' document and watch this video. Have a go at the quiz on this website, then try the questions on the 'SPaG Apostrophe Sheets'. Choose which page you feel confident in doing.
This week’s reading comprehension activity, which is about Stormzy , can be found in the 'Stormzy Reading Comprehension' document.
Please complete the 1-star, 2-star or 3-star activity - whichever you feel is most appropriate. Our suggestion would be that Year 5 pupils try the 2-star task and Year 6 pupils complete the 3-star task.
Daily reading! Remember to read something which interests you for at least 5 minutes every day.
PE: Keep exercising with Joe Wicks!
Computing: Try the Mashcam activity on Purple Mash. If you can, take a selfie or upload a photo of yourself, but don’t worry if you can’t add a picture. Use a speech bubble to tell us something about yourself.
Science, PSHE, Topic and RE: Amazing optional tasks are detailed in the "Weekly Work Summary" document below. We can't wait to see the work that you complete!
