We will be starting our new topic on plants! Follow the powerpoint labelled Online Learning- Parts of a Flower. This will direct you to four different activities with the aim of being able to label a flowering plant. There are three other links below that you will need when working through the powerpoint. We look forward to seeing your knowledge of plants grow!
Our topic work this week has an Art focus. We are linking to our Literacy work by looking at the illustrations of Quentin Blake, who is most famous for illustrating the books of Roald Dahl.

LITERACY W/C 20/4
Over the next few weeks we will be looking at Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes and creating our own Revolting Rhyme in the style of Roald Dahl. Please complete one task per day. They need to be completed in the order they are given.
1. Watch the video for the poem The Three Little Pigs (or read the poem).
While you are listening think about how the writing is structured. What do you notice?
Roald Dahl has used rhyming couplets in his poem. Today we are going to find some rhyming words (RHYMING PAIRS DOCUMENT). Have a go at finding rhyming pairs for the words given on the rhyming pairs sheet. 1 star is easier, 2 star is harder, 3 star is the hardest. Collect your ideas on paper.
2. Using your rhyming pairs from yesterday, can you put them into couplets that make sense. For example:
Boats and floats: I’ve always been scared of boats, in fact I’m scared of anything that floats.
Night and flight: In the blackened dead of night, an intrepid adventurer took a mysterious flight.
Now you have a go, you can record your ideas on paper or video and upload them to your portfolio.
3. Reread the poem The Three Little Pigs. How has Roald Dahl changed the story? What changes could you make to other traditional tales? Think about changes you could make to the following traditional tales, record your ideas and upload to your portfolio.

4. Look at the Three Little Pigs poem again. Today we are going to box up the poem. I have done one for your parents so they can see what you need to do (Lesson 4 documents). Identify the main parts of the story and write a sentence or two describing what is happening in each part of the story. You can also draw a picture.
5. Reading Comprehension: There are three different levels of questions. Choose the level you think is most appropriate. One star is easier, two star harder, three star hardest.

Have a go at the 2Do we have set on Purple Mash using apostrophes for possession (the boy's hair is brown) versus no apostrophe for plural words (the boys are playing football). Good luck!
As an extra challenge, have a go at writing some sentences using apostrophes for possession.
