Week beginning 22nd June

Please choose one task from each subject per day. We would love to see what tasks your child has chosen to do at home, so please send these to your child's class teacher via Class Dojo. 

There are also some fantastic daily lessons and activities on BBC Bitesize for all ages and subjects. 

Maths Daily Activities:

This week, the children will be practising their subtraction skills. They will be learning to recall and use subtraction facts to 20 and will learn to subtract a 1-digit number from a 2-digit number and also subtract two 2-digit numbers. In addition, the children will also be learning to reason about subtraction, complete an investigation and solve word problems. There is also a teaching video (Oak Academy Subtraction Lesson) on the Oak Academy website which will support our work on subtraction.

English Daily Tasks:

Please see the attachments below for this week's English daily tasks. We have also included a reading comprehension with differentiated questions ranging from 1 star - 3 stars in difficulty, children may choose which level questions they wish to have a go at. You will also find some spelling activities below and phonics activities to complete on Purple Mash.

Reading Daily Tasks:

Please read with your child on a daily basis and ask them lots of questions about the events, characters or facts. There is a sheet with some ideas for questions to ask below.

Topic tasks:

This week in topic we are exploring animals at home, specifically looking at animals that have been domesticated. We will also be looking at animals and their young. We would love for the children to design and film their very own animal documentary choosing one or more of their favourite animals to tell us all about. Don't forget to share you ideas and any questions with your class teacher on Dojo! Enjoy.
