PSHE and Citizenship

PSHE stands for Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education and also covers citizenship and personal development.

PSHE and citizenship is a vital subject that aims to equip children with essential life skills, preparing them for life in society now and in the future. I love teaching PSHE and citizenship, as it generates exciting, thought-provoking and occasionally personal discussions within the classroom. At Round Hill, we cover three main areas in our PSHE curriculum: Health and Wellbeing, Relationships, and Living in the Wider World. Through these areas, children are able to consider how they relate to others, their community and themselves.

The intention of our PSHE curriculum is to develop the whole child through carefully planned and resourced lessons that develop the knowledge, skills and attributes children need to protect and enhance their wellbeing.

We also cover various awareness days, weeks and months so children can understand and appreciate a variety of other cultures, current issues, and celebrate how our differences can unite us.
