Round Hill Bulletin – 6th December 2019

The Round Hill Bulletin is designed to help disseminate important information in between monthly Newsletters.   A copy will be placed on the School Website.

                Whole School Information

Allergies               A reminder that we have children in school with severe nut and egg allergies.  Please do not send your child into school with treats either for themselves or for other pupils that contain nuts/egg/sesame seeds.  The nut ban includes children’s packed lunches, specifically chocolate spread, peanut butter and anything containing sesame seeds.  Please speak to your child’s class teacher for further advice.   A child’s life is at risk should we not adhere to this.

If your child has an allergy, whether very mild or more severe, please make sure that school is aware of this.  Even if your child never stays for a school meal, it is vital that we have a record of this on our system.  Please either call into the school office or e-mail the team at office@roundhill.notts.sch.uk

New School Website      You may have seen that we have launched a new school website.  If you haven’t yet seen the new website it would be great if you have a look through the various pages which are full of useful school information.  Let us know what you think!

Active Lives Survey – Rabbits Class           As part of the work we do in school, we are asking parents in Rabbits class to complete an online parent survey around sporting activities.  Please click here to be taken directly to the survey.  Any help / feedback would be very much appreciated to enable us to plan for future sports provision.  Please complete this survey by 13th December.

Planners              Please ensure that your child brings their planner to school with them every day so that they are always available in school when needed.

KS1 Phonics Workshop Presentation       Thank you to all of the parents who attended the KS1 Phonics Workshop Presentation last week.  For those of you who weren’t able to attend, a copy of the presentation can be found on our website under Our Learning and Phonics or click here to be taken directly to the presentation.

RHA Friends of Round Hill Facebook Page             The Round Hill Association (RHA) is trying to raise the profile of what they do and would welcome more parents to support their events.

To help with this they have set up a Friends of Round Hill School Facebook Page.  This is a page and not a group so you don't need to ask to join and can simply just like the page and keep updated with what is posted.

The RHA would be grateful if those of you on Facebook can like the page and invite friends to like the page to help spread the word.

School Dates      Don’t forget to check the School Calendar on the website for all of the exciting events that are planned in school over the next couple of weeks.

Winter PE Kits    We would just like to remind parents that we continue to teach outdoor PE lessons during the winter months. It is important that your child has appropriate clothing for these lessons as it can get very cold. This should consist of a warm long sleeve top, jogging bottoms or a tracksuit, plimsolls or trainers. This list can also be found in planners.

Christmas Jumper and/or Accessory Day               We have had several fund raising events this year so we didn’t feel it was appropriate to have yet another one where we asked for money.  It would be a shame not to get involved and have some fun though, so if your child would like to wear a Christmas jumper or accessorise with some Christmas tinsel / antlers etc… then please feel free to do so on Friday 13th December.
