Below is the power point presentation used at the taster session on 28th April 2016.
Round Hill has a great musical tradition and there are opportunities for children to join many musical groups including a large choir, a smaller boys’ choir, a recorder club and an excellent orchestra. These groups perform at our termly concerts, as well as having opportunities to perform in the local community at special events.
Children have the opportunity in Key Stage 2 (from Year 4 onwards) to receive instrumental tuition on a variety of instruments. These lessons are provided by teachers from The Arts Support Service. They take place during the school day in groups of between 2 and 4 children. Lessons this year (2015-16) cost £5.75 per lesson, and children will have between 34 and 39 lessons per year, with a minimum of 34 lessons guarenteed.
Instruments can be hired from Arts Support at a cost of £14 per term. Parents need to check that their home contents insurance will cover the instruments.
If your child is in receipt of free school meals then both costs are waived.
We offer tuition in the following;
- Violin, Viola and Cello
- Clarinet, Flute and Saxophone
- Trumpet, Cornet, Trombone and French Horn
