REMINDER – MUSIC TUITION IN SCHOOL

A quick reminder for all children who will be in Years 4, 5 or 6 as of September 2017 that music tuition is available in school.  Lessons are taken by teachers from Inspire (formerly the County Council’s Arts Support Service) and paid for each term by parents.  We still have some spaces remaining for September 2017 so if you are interested in your child learning a musical instrument and haven’t yet filled in one of the instrument tuition forms, please contact the office.

CLASSES FOR NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR

Today, the children met their new class teacher in what we call a Mini Class Swap.  The aim is that the children find out which class they are in for next year and also settle any nerves they may have.

We understand that the vast majority of Parents/Carers are content and trust us to sort out class organisation in our usual way. However, we also understand that it can be an uncertain time of year for some pupils and we feel it is important to keep you informed so that we can work together to achieve what is best for everyone at Round Hill. We have several information events coming up that are aimed at keeping you informed:

1) 19th June - Mini Class Swap

2) 27th June 4-4.30 p.m. – Parents Meeting, Transition to New classes

3) 27th June 5–5.30 p.m. – Parents Meeting, Transition to New Classes

4) 6th July – Class Swap Day

5) 7th July – Annual Reports Given Out

6) 11th July 3.30-5.00 p.m. – Parents Meeting Open Day

We have used the same methodology used in previous years.  There is a full explanation of our class organisation strategy on the school website click here.

TRANSITION TO NEW CLASSES

As mentioned above…after positive feedback last year and recommendation from Parents’ Forum, we have decided to continue to hold this event in the summer term with the main focus on transition to new year groups.  The aim is to ease transition and to be familiar with the routines of the new class.  The date of this event will be 27th June.  This event is the same but it will run twice once at 4.00 - 4.30 p.m. and again at 5.00 – 5.30 p.m.

SCHOOL REPORTS /OPEN DAY

Now that classes have been finalised a ‘Class Swap Day’ will be held on Thursday 6th July when the children will spend time with their new teacher.

We plan to hand out school reports on Friday 7th July.  As usual our Open Day will be held the following week, on Tuesday 11th July, when you will have the opportunity to see your child’s books, discuss their report and meet your child’s new class teacher.
