WALKING SAFELY TO SCHOOL

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that you use the path by the library when walking between the small and large playgrounds.  Please avoid walking through the staff car park at all times. The children are being encouraged to do the same.  Please set a good example.

SCHOOL DROP OFF

When dropping off your child / children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in the mornings, please ensure you leave them to line up with their class.  If you want to stay and watch your child into school then please do so at a distance.  This not only helps to make them more independent but also helps make sure all the children get into school under the supervision of the teacher.

If you need to come into school for anything, please come to the main front door, not via any other entrance, for safe guarding reasons.

SCHOOL TELEPHONE NUMBERS

We have 2 telephone lines into school.  The numbers are 0115 917 9262 (our main number) and 0115 917 9263 (our second line).  Please can you save both numbers in your mobile phones so that you are aware when school is ringing you.  If you need to call school, please continue to use 0115 917 9262.

FOOD FOR LIFE

We are looking to start growing some vegetables in school again and are looking for some volunteers to help us clear the planters near the gates in the main playground so we can plant them up in the spring. If anyone has a spare hour on Friday 7th December, please could they meet in the main entrance at 9am.  We plan to clear them out and prepare the soil for the children to plant some vegetables in the spring.

SCHOOL MILK

A reminder that we have a school milk scheme administered by Cool Milk which enables your child to have a carton of milk during the school day.  If you would like to register your child for school milk please visit https://www.coolmilk.com/register ".  Alternatively, a copy of the registration form can be found on the School Dinners section of our school website which you can find by clicking here.

BROXTOWE SPORTSHALL ATHLETICS COMPETITION

On Tuesday 23rd October 20 children from Years 5 and 6 along with Mr Abdy hopped on the tram to make the short journey to George Spencer to take part in the heats of the Broxtowe Sportshall Athletics competition. There were 8 different schools taking part and the children were competing in a number of different running races as well as field events that included jumping and throwing. Over the course of the afternoon there were some excellent performances from all of the children and when the points were tallied up at the end, we finished in first place! The first two schools qualified for the district finals so we will look forward to taking on this challenge in the new year. Well done everyone!

The children developed their badminton skills, pushed themselves in a range of physical challenges and even took part in a 'Drumba' session!
