Week Beginning 29.06.20
Hello Year 5's!
Here are your learning activities for this week. You can find plenty more 'optional' activities to complete by looking at the 'Learning Summary Sheet' document at the bottom of this page.
We can't wait to see your work uploaded onto your Class Dojo Portfolios. Keep up the terrific work, we really do love seeing the brilliant things that you have been doing.
Take care and have a fantastic week,
The Year 5/6 Teachers
Lesson 1: Multiply 2-digit numbers (area model)
Lesson 2: Multiply 4 digits by 2 digits
Times Table Rockstars: Play the 10 Garage and 10 Festival games which have been set for you.
Optional: Find out about cubed numbers by working through this lesson. For the end of lesson quiz, you will be able to use some of your answers from the independent practice to help you.
Continue working on your Dragon story. Look back at your story mountain from last week, and re-read the build-up and dilemma which you wrote. This week, you need to draft the rest of the story (opening, resolution and ending). Check that your story makes sense and flows well before writing it up in neat.
|Spelling and Grammar (SPaG):||
Grammar: Work thought the lesson on cohesive devices, stopping the video to complete the activities when asked.
Spelling: At the end of the SPaG lesson, there are some spelling words for you to practice, all using the suffix –ibly. You can use the wordsearch provided in the lesson activities to help you as well.
This week’s reading comprehension is about Ruby Bridges! You can find it on the school website. You can choose whether to do the 1-star, 2-star or 3-star activity, depending on how confident you are feeling.
Daily reading! Remember to read something which interests you for at least 5 minutes every day.
This half term we would like you to work on a project all about Brazil. All of the project information can be found by following this link or by clicking on the 'Visit Brazil Project' link which is on the right hand side of this page. Once you get onto the page, you will find a grid of ideas and some resources you can use.
We’d like you to complete at least 6 activities this half term but you can do more! If you’ve got an idea that isn’t on the grid, feel free to do that too! Be as creative as you can!
PE: This year we are having a virtual Sports Day! Keep an eye out for more information ready for Friday!
Computing: Complete “2Paint” on Purple Mash. Create a lovely picture using the 2paint tools. You could create a picture for PSHE or the SPaG optional poster!
Science, R.E., P.S.H.E & More!: Amazing optional tasks are detailed in the "Weekly Work Summary" document below. We can't wait to see the work that you complete!
