NEWSLETTER 04 – 31ST OCTOBER 2016

THANK YOU - HARVEST FESTIVAL COLLECTION

Thank you for your contributions to the harvest display.  The Charity Hope asked me to pass on their thanks.

RETHINK REMEMBRANCE

This year, The Royal British Legion is asking the nation to Rethink Remembrance by recognising the sacrifices made not just by the Armed Forces of the past, but by today’s generation too. We have poppies available in the school entrance. As always children are being reminded to write their names on.

NO DOGS IN THE PLAYGROUND/BY THE GATES

A reminder that only guide dogs are allowed on the playground - we have several children who become very upset when they see them.  Could you also not tie dogs up near the school gates as this also causes distress.  Thank you for your understanding.

PLANNERS ARE IMPORTANT

The teachers have reminded all children today about the importance of having their planner in school every day.  Can I ask that parents record a child’s reading in their planner regularly and remember that a child doesn’t always have to read to you, they can read on their own and tell you about what they have read.

REMINDER - PARENTS EVENING

We are looking forward to meeting with you at the first Parent/Teacher Consultation Meeting of the school year on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th November.

Remember there is a new electronic system for booking, click here for details.

Thank you to everyone for their feedback via survey monkey.  We are keen to receive feedback about our new online Parents Evening booking system so we can make it even better.  If you missed the chance and would like to add your comments click here.

REMINDER - NEW ADMISSIONS CONSULTATION

Further to the item that appeared in Newsletter 2, the Local Authority is currently consulting on the school admission arrangements for 2018-19. The consultation period is from Monday 3 October to Sunday 27 November 2016.  Find out more about the proposed changes for 2018-19 and have your say click here.

As mentioned in the letter, we will keep this under constant review and if things aren’t working we will adapt where we need to and keep you informed of any changes via texts/email.
