Year 3 and 4 Homework:

Expectations and links:

Reading

Please hear your child read regularly, ideally every day. Please then write in their planner and teachers will sign planners on a Monday. Your child will be awarded dojo points for reading at home.

Spelling

This year we will be using Spelling Bug to help us learn our spellings. Your child will be allocated a task to complete at home to help them with their learning.

This half-term we are learning about the spelling rule: vowel suffixes. Your child has been set 3 games focused on the vowel suffixes to complete across the whole half-term. Please follow this link: ActiveLearn: Login (activelearnprimary.co.uk)

Alternatively, there is a list of the year 3 and 4 statutory spellings and a word mat of 200 high frequency words below. Your child can pick 10 spellings to practise.

MyMaths

There will be weekly homework set onto MyMaths, where your child can complete a task related to the math’s concept they are currently studying.

Please follow this link: Home - MyMaths

Times Tables

Your child will have log in details for the Times Tables Rock Stars website where they can practise their times tables. We recommend they practise their times tables weekly.

Please follow this link:Times Tables Rock Stars (ttrockstars.com)

Below you will find worksheets for every times table from 2 to 12. Children can practise multiplication by completing these activities as an alternative.

Topic

Each half-term the children will receive homework based on the current topic that we are covering in school. Activities will be posted onto the school website on this page, open the link below to find out all about it. Please post pictures of these pieces of homework onto your child’s portfolio onto Class Dojo and children will be awarded dojo points for every piece of homework that they complete. On the last week of half-term, class teacher's will review all the homework and children will have the opportunity to share these pieces with their classmates.
