Week beginning 18th May

Please choose one task from each subject per day. We would love to see what tasks your child has chosen to do at home, so please send these to your child's class teacher via Class Dojo.

There are also some fantastic daily lessons and activities on BBC Bitesize for all ages and subjects.

English Daily Tasks:

Handwriting and spelling resources can be found below, please use the handwriting paper and suffix resources to practise spellings this week. We have also included a reading comprehension with differentiated questions ranging from 1 star - 3 stars in difficulty, children may choose which level questions they wish to have a go at. Also, please see the attachments below for this week's English daily tasks. You will also find some spellings and phonics activities to complete on Purple Mash.

Reading Daily Tasks:

Please read with your child on a daily basis and ask them lots of questions about the events, characters or facts. There is a prompt sheet for good questions below.

Maths Daily Tasks:

This week we are going to look at capacity by studying different containers and using words to describe how much liquid they hold. Have a go at some of the activities below. There is no need to do them all, or in any particular order, but have a look at the overview for some ideas. Some of the worksheets are now in picture form, which means you are able to open and complete them using a drawing tool such as Paint instead of printing them out if you would like to. You can, of course still print them too!

Have fun this week with lots of practical maths, and keep practising your maths from last week too. Lots of you have been busy cooking with your families at home. Measuring is a very useful skill to help you – particularly if you are following a recipe!

Topic tasks:

This week we will be learning about different types of weather and comparing the UK to Thailand. Explore making weather measuring instruments, recording your very own weather report and this weeks science experiment based on shadows and the human sundial. Below you will find an assortment of activities along with a check list that outlines each of this weeks tasks.. Please feel free to share your adventures on class dojo and keep us posted on how you are getting on.
