We are pleased to let you know the outcome of the Ofsted inspection that took place in June 2023. The report is excellent recognition of the hard work of the team at Round Hill. Staff, governors, children and parents deserve great credit for this tremendous achievement.

Round Hill maintains its status as a ‘good school’. The inspection team agreed with evaluations we had made and recognised the considerable strengths of the school. They also recognised the improvement plans we have in place and the positive impact these will continue to have. This demonstrates that we know and understand our strengths and weaknesses well.

Remaining a good school is a tremendous achievement in itself. The senior leadership team and governors received more detailed feedback from the inspection team where they acknowledged the school met every criterion for ‘Good’ in every category and ‘Good’ gradings were seen as ‘strong’ and ‘secure’.

A particular highlight was the confidence with which the children spoke to the inspector, explaining how we keep them safe and them knowing who they can speak to should they need help. We were also overwhelmed by the phenomenal response to the parental survey. 97% of parents said they would recommend the school – this is an outstanding achievement and one of which staff are particularly proud.

So where next? How can we make our school the very best it can be? We have already started thinking about and working on our school improvement priorities for next year. Parents’ Forum and School Council will also be invited to contribute too.

In the meantime, it’s business as usual. We will all enjoy the summer holiday, when it arrives, coming back refreshed ready for a new school year, secure in the knowledge that we have achieved our aims. One of them being that your child leaves us with a deep love of learning and has many positive memories on their educational journey.
